Where we haul

Based in Tacoma and on the road across Pierce and King County seven days a week.

What we cannot take

Read this before you book. A crew that has to leave something behind costs you the visit as well as the item, so here is the whole list, with somewhere else to take it wherever we know one.

  • Play sets, swing sets and trampolinesThey only come out in pieces, and taking a standing structure apart is not work we do.
  • Anything still fixed to the houseWe haul what is already down. Cabinets on the wall, flooring still laid and built-ins go once they are loose and on the floor.
  • Dumpsters, roll-offs and emptying a container you filledWe load by hand and do not service containers: we never place a dumpster or a roll-off, and we never empty a bin or a container somebody else filled. Your city or county garbage utility places a container and empties it, and the hauler named on your garbage bill is the one to call for a roll-off.
  • Oil-based paint, stain, solvents, fuel, pesticides and pool chemicalsThe drop-off that takes these takes them from a household and refuses anything a business brings in, and we are a business. Oil-based paint and stain in the original labeled can go to a PaintCare drop-off site. The household hazardous waste drop-off at the Hidden Valley transfer station on Meridian in Puyallup takes the rest from a resident, at no charge. Latex paint rides with the load: dried out at a set charge per can, still liquid at a set charge per gallon.
  • Propane tanks and ammunitionNeither one is safe in the back of a moving truck.
  • Asbestos, and anything a survey flaggedPopcorn ceiling, old vinyl tile and the mastic under it, older roofing and siding: an abatement contractor has to take those out, not us.
  • Needles, medication and medical wasteNone of it can go in a mixed load. Pierce County transfer stations take sharps from a resident at no charge in a rigid, closed container. Medication goes to a take-back kiosk at a pharmacy or a sheriff's office, and medtakebackwashington.org lists them.
  • Biohazard, trauma and animal waste in quantityThat is a separate service, and we will say so if the job needs it.
  • More than 5 tires on one jobPast that the load falls under the state waste tire rules, so a person prices it rather than a photo.
  • Appliances still hooked up to gas, water or powerDisconnect it first, or have a plumber or an electrician do it, and then it goes in the load like anything else.
  • Commercial refrigeration, walk-ins and restaurant equipmentIt comes apart on site and it does not fit the truck.
  • Contaminated soil and industrial wasteThe health department has to authorize those before anyone hauls them.
  • Cars, boats and trailersAnything with a title needs a wrecking yard, not a junk truck.
  • Grand pianos, safes and anything that needs a rigging crewThe weight is the problem, and moving one safely takes gear and a crew we do not carry. A piano mover or a rigging company moves a grand piano, and most will take one away for disposal as well as move it.
  • A former tenant's belongings that are legally still theirsThe notice period has to have run before anything of theirs leaves the property.
