Who is texting you
Vanquish Junk Removal LLC, a junk removal company based in Tacoma, Washington. Every text on this list comes from our one business number, and every one of them names us in the first few words so you know at a glance who it is.
What we send, and nothing else
Every text is about a pickup you asked us for, or an answer to a text you sent us. There are sixteen of them and this is all of them. The list is checked against the code that sends them, one entry per message kind:
A note that we have your request
Sent once, straight after you pick a day. Picking a day and a morning or afternoon asks us for that time; it is not a booking until we say yes. This text says so, and says when we will answer.
A note if we cannot take it
Sent if we cannot make the day you asked for. Nothing is booked and you owe nothing. It carries a link to the days that are still open.
A note if we do not answer in time
Sent if we let our own deadline go by without answering. Your request is released, nothing is booked, and the text says so rather than leaving you waiting.
A booking confirmation
Sent once, when we accept your request. This is the text that says you have a pickup, with the day and the time we plan to arrive.
A reminder three days before
Only when you booked more than three days ahead, which for most of our work is not the case.
A reminder the day before
The afternoon before your pickup. It ends with "Reply YES to confirm". A YES marks your booking confirmed on our side; no reply leaves it as booked, and we may call to check. Either way your pickup is held.
A day-of text
At 8am on the day, naming the crew coming to you and how to reach them. Not sent when you book after 8am on the same day, because the confirmation already carries the day and the time.
An on-the-way text
When the crew sets off, with the time they arrive about. On the day, the crew may also text that they are there, or ask you to meet them out front.
A note if we are running late
Only on the day of your pickup, if the crew is running behind. Your pickup still stands.
A note if your time changes
Sent if you move your pickup or if we have to.
A cancellation notice
Sent if the pickup is canceled, by you or by us.
A text from your door
Sent if the crew is at your door and cannot get in. It says the crew waits 15 minutes and how to reach them.
A note if we could not get in
Sent if the crew still could not get in after that wait. The pickup is off, and the text carries a link to pick a new day.
A note when the job is done
Sent once, after the crew finishes and photographs the cleared space. It carries a link to your pickup page, where your before and after photos are. It asks for nothing.
A text when a time opens
Only if you ask for one, by ticking its own box when you hold a price or find no open times. It carries a link to book the time that opened, for 14 days, at most one a day and three in all.
Replies when you text us photos
If you text photos of what needs to go to our number, we text back a price range with a link to open pickup times, or ask for a clearer photo. Only in reply to you, and the first reply says how to opt out.
A sign-in code you ask for on our website or in our app is not one of these. It comes from our texting provider’s verification service, not from our number.
We do not send marketing or promotional texts. Not offers, not discounts, not seasonal reminders, not requests to refer a friend. That is a rule we have written into the code that composes these messages, not a promise we are asking you to take on trust: there is no promotional text in the program to send.
How often
Message frequency varies. A same-day pickup usually means three texts in one day. A booking made a week out means at most six texts across that week. Past six texts for one pickup, any further notice about it comes by email, except the two texts about a door we could not get in. If you book once and never book again, you never hear from us again.
What it costs
Nothing from us. Message and data rates may apply from your own carrier, on your own plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any text from us. You will get one short confirmation that you are unsubscribed, and after that nothing. QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE and OPT OUT all work the same way, as do plain sentences that say the same thing.
Opting out is per phone number and it holds. If you replied STOP and want texts again, reply START to our number, then tick the box when you book. Ticking the box alone cannot undo a STOP: the block sits with our texting provider until you send START.
Stopping the texts does not cancel your pickup. Those are separate: to cancel a booking, use the link in your confirmation or write to us.
Replying YES
The day-before reminder asks for one word back. Reply YES and we record the time on your booking so we know you are expecting us. That is all it does. A reply of STOP or HELP is always read as STOP or HELP, never as a yes, and a reply we cannot read as a yes is simply not one: nothing is confirmed, nothing is cancelled, and your pickup is held as booked.
In Spanish
If you asked for your pickup on our Spanish pages, the texts about it come in Spanish. They are the same texts listed above, and nothing more. Reply ALTO, PARAR or CANCELAR to stop them, the same as STOP; AYUDA for help, the same as HELP; and SI to the day-before reminder, the same as YES. The English words work on every text too. These terms are written in English and the English is what governs.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any text and you will get a reply naming us and how to reach a person. You can also call (253) 369-1857. For anything the texts cannot answer, write to info@vanquishjunk.com.
Text photos of what needs to go to our business number. Vanquish Junk Removal texts back a price range and a link to open pickup times, in that conversation only. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. SMS terms and privacy policy.
How you opted in
By ticking the box that says so, directly under the phone number field on our booking form or on the Check and send screen of our app. That box is never pre-ticked, it is separate from every other box, and we store the exact sentence you agreed to along with the date, so we can always show you what you actually said yes to.
The box is optional. Every booking gives us an email, so without it we send the notices about your pickup by email. A pickup booked with us by phone gets no texts at all. If you text photos to our number to ask for a price, we reply in that conversation and nothing more. The separate box about emails from us is never required.
The text when a time opens has a box of its own, beside the hold-price and no-open-times forms. We store its sentence and the date the same way, and it covers that one request for 14 days.
Your information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services is permitted, such as Twilio, which delivers our texts, Intuit QuickBooks, which handles invoices and payments, and the companies that host our website and database.
Your number is used to run your pickup and for nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing, and we do not share phone numbers or consent with third parties for any purpose other than delivering these messages. The full detail is in our privacy policy, and the terms of the work itself are in our terms of service.
